Kate Middleton was secretly hospitalized in London last week, according to a suspicious report coming out of Australia. Gossip Cop investigated, and as of now, there is no evidence to support the claim.

The suspect allegation comes from the tabloid Women’s Day, which is alleging on its website, “As plans for an official engagement announcement were being prepared for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the palace was plunged into a state of distress as Prince William’s wife The Duchess of Cambridge was rushed to King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London, early last week.” According to the gossip outlet, “The Duchess was released the following day.”

“She was doing much better towards the end of last week. It’s believed her mum Carole Middleton stepped in to help her take care of the kids,” contends the publication, which asserts the supposed hospitalization has “sparked rumors” Middleton is “in the early stages of a third pregnancy.” Rumors have indeed been sparked. Celeb Dirty Laundry, Closer and Australia’s Yahoo have all picked up these claims, even though not a single reputable outlet has confirmed them to be true.

It seems those lemmings were willing to take the Women’s Day allegations as fact simply because Middleton was hospitalized early on in her first pregnancy due to severe morning sickness. She struggled with hyperemesis gravidarum again during her second pregnancy. But that does not mean there’s credence to these new claims. It is also highly unusual, and arguably illogical, that news of a new hospitalization would be broken by a tabloid in Australia, and not by one of the British publications that follow the royal family’s every move.

In fact, those publications have reported that Middleton is currently vacationing in Balmoral with Prince William as part of Queen Elizabeth’s annual summer holiday. Nothing has been said about a hospitalization, and the few articles that mention one contain information that can only be traced Down Under to Women’s Day. It’s also telling that the tabloid asserts this purported medical emergency occurred while “plans for an official engagement announcement were being prepared for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.” There is no proof to substantiate that contention, either. Gossip Cop has reached out to Kensington Palace for an official comment.
