A tabloid claims Kate Beckinsale has been "ghosting" Pete Davidson and won't give him a reason as to why she ended their romance. The story is false. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
The actress and the "Saturday Night Live" star split in late April after around four months of dating, and according to NW, the relationship didn't end well. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Pete feels played and he's in a world of pain, not least because this came out of nowhere. They were making plans to go on a holiday to Europe and she'd given him a key to her home - then all of a sudden, it's finito."
The alleged insider further contends that Beckinsale is refusing to give the "SNL" star an explanation for the breakup, but friends believe he scared her off after supposedly asking to get "matching tattoos" and sending her "a hundred texts a day." The questionable tipster adds, "To be fair, Kate warned him not to get too intense and was open to everyone about it being a bit of fun."
None of this is remotely accurate. People magazine, a much more reliable source for celebrity news than NW, reported that Beckinsale and Davidson's split was "amicable." The publication noted that long distance was a major factor in their breakup and both "had been trying to make it work up until very recently," but ultimately went their separate ways. "Entertainment Tonight," another reputable celebrity news outlet, similarly reported that Beckinsale and Davidson are "still friendly but are not on romantic terms."
Additionally, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Beckinsale, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us there's no truth to the magazine's account of events. This wouldn't be the first time we've had to debunk a story surrounding the romance between the actress and the "SNL" star. Back in March, Gossip Cop called out a tabloid for wrongly reporting that Beckinsale and Davidson were moving in together.
Meanwhile, NW has already proven to have zero insight into the comedian's love life. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Davidson was expecting a baby with Ariana Grande. The two ended their romance shortly after we corrected the phony report. Although the "SNL" star's breakup with Grande did result in some residual drama, there's nothing to indicate that's the case with his split from Beckinsale. The idea that she's "ghosting" the comic simply isn't true.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
