Are Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson really moving in together? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.
According to Heat, the relationship between the actress and the "Saturday Night Live" star is becoming increasingly serious, to the point where they're talking about settling down under the same roof. "Until Pete came along, the only guys Kate's been dating lately have been fun fling material," a supposed source tells the magazine. "Pete's been an exciting breath of fresh air and she's falling for him, big time."
The alleged tipster further contends that Beckinsale and Davidson are "dating exclusively now and if things keep up, they'll be living together very soon." The seemingly imaginary insider adds, "Everyone is expecting them to move in with each other any day now it's not outside the realm of possibility that they might buy a place together, either."
The unreliable outlet doesn't provide any details about where the pair might live. Beckinsale is primarily based in Los Angeles, while Davidson lives in New York City where "SNL" is taped. So who's switching coasts? You won't find that answer in the magazine.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Beckinsale, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us that she and Davidson aren't moving in together. People magazine, a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than Heat, recently reported that Beckinsale is "not looking to get serious with someone" at this time, but she enjoys spending time with Davidson.
It's worth noting, Heat offered a very different take on the couple's relationship just last month. In February, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming Beckinsale's friends believed she was going to dump Davidson and break his heart. At the time, a so-called "source" was quoted as saying, "She'll get bored eventually and move on like she always does."
That story was also fabricated, but it goes to show how the tabloid can't keep its stories straight. In the fantasy world created by the magazine, Beckinsale was ready to end her fling with Davidson and a few weeks later decided they should live together. The outlet's narratives are both untrue and contradictory.
Oddly enough, Gossip Cop previously busted a story about Beckinsale's ex-boyfriend Matt Rife moving in with her. That didn't happen. The gossip media doesn't appear to have much insight into the actress's love life.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
