Are the Kardashian sisters really jealous of Kylie Jenner's success? An article claims Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are upset with the makeup mogul in the wake of her Forbes cover. Gossip Cop looked into the story, which comes from the tabloids.
The report in question can be found in the pages of Life & Style, with the sensational headline, "Sisters At War." After Forbes recently predicted Jenner will become the youngest "self-made" billionaire, with a net worth estimated around $900 million, a so-called "insider" alleges she has been "boasting about it," and "carrying a copy of the magazine with her wherever she goes." Her success supposedly "isn't sitting well with everyone in her famous family."
"Kylie's older sisters are jealous," claims the outlet's untraceable source, who accuses Kim of "putting on a fake front" when she's really "feeling incredibly bitter that her younger sister is outshining her in every way." It's alleged Kim has been "ranting to Kourtney and Khloe about how unfair it is," and has "distanced herself from Kylie," encouraging "Kourtney and Khloe to do the same." The purported tipster further contends the Kardashian trio have been "gossiping among themselves about how Kylie 'had it easy' because the family was already famous well before she even hit her teens."
As for Kylie's perspective, the publication's "insider" maintains that while she's "sad her older sisters are jealous of her fortune," it "doesn't stop her from rubbing their noses in it." Declares the supposed snitch, "The rift between Kylie and her sisters is bigger than ever." But while the tabloid wants readers to believe the Kardashian-Jenner clan has been "torn apart by Kylie's success, fame and astounding wealth," there is evidence proving otherwise.
For starters, Kim posted on Twitter about Jenner's Forbes cover not once, but twice. She wrote in the second tweet, "Wait I'm posting this again just because!!!! BILLION DOLLAR BABY." She needn't have gone to those lengths if she was upset about the milestone. Days later, Kim strongly defended Jenner from backlash over the "self-made" designation. "What, because we came from a family that has had success? To me, that doesn't really make sense... I know so many people like that [who] haven't turned out to be as successful as Kylie. If anything, I've seen the complete opposite," she said. That sentiment goes directly against the tabloid's claim that Kim herself doesn't believe Kylie is "self-made."
Meanwhile, Khloe also posted on Twitter about the Forbes cover, writing, "Congratulations BOSS babe!!!" She showed her admiration for her youngest sister again a few days later, tweeting alongside a picture of Jenner, "Why are you so [expletive] gorgeous????? Mom life does you good girl." And given that Kourtney and Jenner collaborated earlier this year, it makes little sense to contend Kourtney is suddenly turning against her.
There is also proof that, as opposed to be there being a rivalry, the family's support for one another goes both ways. Jenner did a Snapchat video earlier this month, in which she gushed over Kim's latest perfume, and revealed she "only" wears fragrances by KKW Beauty. None of this, all of which is readily available online, is mentioned in the story. The magazine is ignoring primary sources from the Kardashian-Jenners themselves to push a narrative based solely on one anonymous "insider." All this shows that Life & Style is at "war" with the facts.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
