Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are not in "marriage counseling," despite continued inaccurate claims about the couple. It's still fake news, Gossip Cop has exclusively confirmed with a rep.
In June 2016, Life & Style falsely claimed Kris Jenner was pushing West and Kardashian to get marriage counseling to work out supposed relationship issues. We rightly busted the story at the time, as their union was not in jeopardy and they did not intend to seek out joint therapy. Now a year later, the tabloid has a new story on the same topic.
"After nearly splitting up, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are working with a therapist to solve problems that have plagued them for months," the gossip magazine announces in its current edition. A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Their therapist comes to their home and talks with them. They were considering divorce, but decided to try to work it out."
That allegation follows the outlet's recent untrue claim about Kardashian and West having a "trial separation." Forgive us, but it's hard to trust a publication that also wrongly declared Kardashian was "dumped while pregnant" in 2015. Now the tabloid is acknowledging the couple is still together, but purporting to have inside knowledge of their alleged "couples counseling." Right.
In the wake of Kardashian's robbery and West's hospitalization last fall, "They began leading separate lives, with both of them seeking therapy and trying it on their own," contends the magazine. "But it wasn't working. Finally they realized that if they wanted to save the marriage, they'd have to do it together." Naturally, the outlet quotes a marriage therapist who has never met the superstars but nonetheless believes they're "making the right choice in going to counseling" together.
Its poor track record in the past aside, the Life & Style story on its own sounds plausible. But plausible is not synonymous with true. And a rep for Kardashian tells Gossip Cop point-blank that the claims of joint counseling to save their marriage are "false." We also corrected such fake news six months ago, when OK! ridiculously claimed Kardashian and West were spending a whopping $100,000 a month on couples therapy. That money, however, is still safely tucked away in their pockets.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
