Kanye West is NOT going to be a judge on an “American Idol” reboot, despite a report claiming he’s considering a supposed offer. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the false story.

“Simon, Who? Kanye In Talks For ‘American Idol’ Judging Gig,” reads a completely untrue headline from RadarOnline. According to the facts-challenged outlet, “NBC is courting Kanye West to convince him to join the judging panel on the proposed revival of ‘American Idol,’ and the network will stop at nothing to get him on board.”

In addition to Ryan Seacrest returning as host, the webloid claims that while “there’s hope the show would also welcome back some of the celebrities that helped made the competition a household name, it’s not a top priority for head honchos.” Rather, a so-called “source,” asserts, “Kanye is at the very top of the wish list, not Simon Cowell. If Ryan hosting can help get them Kanye, that’s a happy result for NBC.”

The purported tipster goes on to claim, “Kanye’s weighing the options and is even grilling Jennifer Lopez on what’s involved. It’s not an easy gig, but the offer he’s got is proving to be very hard to refuse.” Actually, there’s nothing to refuse at all.

Though the webloid speculates West may be “following in his wife Kim Kardashian’s reality show footsteps,” he is NOT contemplating joining a revived “American Idol.” Plans for such a project are nowhere near official, but the rapper is not involved regardless. A rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop that RadarOnline published a “bogus” story.

That’s hardly surprising. In addition to running countless made-up divorce stories about the superstar, the site also seemingly fabricated an article about West being on suicide watch last fall. While this new piece about “American Idol” is obviously much less serious, wrong is wrong, and Gossip Cop will continue to call out the bad blog’s inaccuracies as necessary.
