Kanye West has not asked Caitlyn Jenner's supposed "girlfriend" Sophia Hutchins to become a Yeezy model, despite a new claim. This story was obviously sparked by the new photos of Hutchins wearing clothes West designed. But Gossip Cop has learned they are not embarking on a partnership.
On Thursday, West posted on Twitter a screenshot of a text message exchange with Jenner, in which she sent him a photo of Hutchins wearing Yeezy clothes and thanked him for gifting the items. "Sophia loved the first set of looks your team left and went all yeezy for her travel outfit today," Jenner told him, adding, "We love your looks!" And for her part, Hutchins shared photos on Instagram of herself wearing the gear.
Now RadarOnline is claiming West is "ready to hire the 22-year-old trans beauty." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Ye thinks Sophia looked bomb in her new Yeezy Boosts, and is talking to her about working for him full-time as a model. He thinks she could be a huge supermodel, and wants to help her get her big break." It's alleged Jenner and Hutchins "love the idea."
"Cait's really pushing her to take Kanye up on his offer," alleges the site's untraceable tipster, who contends, "Cait feels there's room for two models in the family, and told Sophia she'd ask [daughter] Kendall to give her a few pointers." The blog goes on to predict that "the new member of the Yeezy team isn't likely to go over well" with Kim Kardashian, given her feud with Jenner.
There is no question this narrative was inspired by West and Jenner's text conversation. But apparently the website is unaware that Hutchins already has a full-time job as the executive director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation. It's unclear why she'd want to give that position up, given her devotion to advocating for the transgender community, to work full-time as a model for West's fashion line.
Well, she has no intention of doing so, nor is Jenner encouraging Hutchins to take this nonexistent job offer. A spokesperson for the former Olympian tells Gossip Cop there is no truth to the outlet's story. The online publication is also wrong with calling Hutchins her "girlfriend." In an interview Jenner did with Variety earlier this month, she denied they are a couple, instead explaining, "We're the best of friends."
Gossip Cop also pointed this out almost a week ago, when RadarOnline purported to know the "secret" to Jenner and Hutchins' "happy relationship." The site is also known for inaccurately reporting on Kardashian and West, including a provably false story recently that claimed he told Kardashian to "stop looking cheap." Of course, she often wears the rapper's own designs, and will continue to do so. Hutchins may, too, but it won't be because West as hired her as his model.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
