Are Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel quitting Hollywood and moving to Tennessee so they can raise their young son out of the spotlight? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.
According to OK!, the singer and actress don't want their 3-year-old son Silas growing up in Hollywood, so they're planning to permanently relocate to Timberlake's home state of Tennessee. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "There are whispers that Justin recently purchased a $2.2 million farmhouse... It's been kept very quiet, and nobody knows when they're planning to move in, but Justin and Jessica have been seen nearby and workers are currently clearing out the property."
The magazine's story has red flags from the start. For example, it's never a good sign when a source uses terms like "there are whispers" and "nobody knows." Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Biel, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the outlet's report is simply "not true." The actress and her husband aren't planning to live in Tennessee full-time.
Here's what's really happening. In 2016, Timberlake bought property in the small town of Leiper's Fork, Tennessee. The musician purchased and restored a century-old house, and turned it into a workspace for his business ventures. Timberlake also once owned a golf course in Memphis, but sold the land in 2014. The singer clearly feels a strong connection to his hometown and enjoys setting up shop there on occasion. However, Timberlake's home base is Los Angeles and he's not "leaving it behind," as the magazine claims. The musician and actress both have busy careers and aren't "quitting" show business.
Additionally, OK! has proven to have very little insight into the famous couple's personal life. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid in September 2017 for wrongly reporting that Timberlake and Biel were getting a "$300 million divorce." The happy spouses are obviously still very much together.
And just last week, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming that Timberlake and Biel were expecting a second baby. The actress isn't currently pregnant, and this latest article about the couple moving to Tennessee makes no mention of them having a baby. It's clear the unreliable tabloid has trouble keeping track of its phony narratives. It seems to have concocted this latest story simply because Timberlake already owns property in Tennessee and has been known to visit.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
