Is Justin Timberlake struggling to sell tickets for his Man of the Woods concert tour? That's the inaccurate claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
A headline in the latest issue of OK! reads, "Justin's Ticket Sales Tank!" The accompanying article says the musician and his team are worried sick over his supposed inability to pack venues. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "He used to be one of the most popular entertainers in the world, but his star appeal seems to be fading. His team is scrambling to promote the tour and get more seats sold, but not even reducing prices is helping."
The outlet's supposed source adds, "The ticket sales are horrendous. Justin's worst fear is being reduced to performing at small venues and dive bars." Gossip Cop, however, can explain why none of this is remotely accurate.
Earlier this week, Forbes released a list of the highest-grossing North American concert tours of 2018. Timberlake's Man of the Woods tour came in at number five with $110 million in sales and 791,780 tickets sold. Despite what the unreliable magazine's "source" claims, there's statistical data proving the singer's concert tour is a major hit.
It's worth noting, the Man of the Woods tour kicked off this past March, so the timing of the magazine's article doesn't make much sense. It's possible this story was concocted because Timberlake recently rescheduled dates for his tour due to bruised vocal cords. The six concerts that the singer had scheduled in December have been pushed back until next month to give him time to recover. OK!, however, makes no mention of this situation, indicating that its "insider" knows very little about what's going on behind the scenes.
Still, Gossip Cop ran the tabloid's story by a source close to Timberlake, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us there's no truth to the magazine's premise. In fact, we're told the musician has actually added dates to his tour to make up for the postponement.
OK!'s bogus report about the singer's career isn't surprising, considering the magazine doesn't know anything about his personal life either. In September, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel were expecting a second child. The actress isn't currently pregnant.
Last year, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming that Timberlake and Biel were getting a "$300 million divorce." The happy spouses are still going strong. This latest article regarding the musician's concert tour is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
