Did Justin Theroux's sex scene in the season premiere of "The Leftovers" upset Jennifer Aniston? That's the claim coming from the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal the truth.
The third and final season of Theroux's HBO show starts airing on Sunday night. But when Aniston accompanied Theroux to the red carpet premiere earlier this month, she was taken aback by Theroux's love scene in the season's first episode, claims In Touch. The tabloid declares, "It was the last thing she wanted to see."
The scene in question features Theroux's character hooking up with the one played by co-star Carrie Coon. Watching it at the premiere, "Jen squirmed in her seat" and "looked incredibly uncomfortable," a supposed "eyewitness" claims to the magazine. Following the screening, a so-called "friend" asserts to the tabloid, "She freaked out at Justin for making her sit through the steamy scene without any prior knowledge of what was coming."
The purported tipster further contends Aniston deemed it "one of the most uncomfortable experiences of her life" and "felt humiliated." Unsurprisingly, the publication links the actress' reaction to her then-husband Brad Pitt having sex scenes with Angelina Jolie in Mr. And Mrs. Smith, a film project that eventually led to Aniston's divorce and the rise of Brangelina. "Justin has told Jen a million times that he's not like Brad," the pal insists, but Aniston has "jealousy issues."
The real issue, however, is with In Touch. It is true Aniston joined Theroux at "The Leftovers" premiere, but all the other contentions are false. The actress had no problem with her husband getting "hot and heavy" on screen because she knows it's all pretend. She's never had a problem with such sequences in the past with Theroux, just as he doesn't object to those that are required by her own work.
The tabloid's allegations are a "complete fabrication," Aniston's rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop. The magazine, of course, has a rich history of running made-up stories about the actress and her relationship with Theroux. In fact, recently Theroux even mocked tabloids like In Touch for spreading fake news about them. Well, this is another tale we can add to the garbage collection.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
