Justin Theroux is not trying to score a date with Jennifer Lopez, despite a late and wrong report that Gossip Cop already debunked. The premise wasn't true when we busted it earlier this week. It's still completely bogus.
On Monday, RadarOnline made up a story about Theroux having "the hots" for Lopez and wanting to pursue a romance with the singer. The article, which was filled with inaccuracies about the actor's love life, was also based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source." However, a rep qualified to speak on Theroux's behalf told Gossip Cop on the record it was flat-out "false."
Unfortunately, the latest issue of the Globe is continuing to spread the phony narrative. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Justin's spreading the word he wants to take J.Lo out for dinner. He's under the impressions she'll say yes. He thinks he's the world's greatest lover."
The "source" further claims "it doesn't bother" Theroux that Lopez is dating Alex Rodriguez because he's up for the "challenge" of stealing her away. The questionable tipster concludes that Lopez "doesn't have the slightest interest" in Theroux, but her boyfriend will have no problem beating up the actor "if he makes a move." That showdown won't be happening. This random storyline, which seems to have cropped up out of thin air, is completely fabricated.
In addition to the crux of the outlet's article being wrong, it's riddle with additional falsehoods. The magazine lists Emma Stone and Sienna Miller as two of Theroux's former conquests, but he's never been romantically involved with either actress. In June, Theroux and Stone's mutual friend Jonathan Van Ness confirmed to E! News that the two are simply "friends." He added, "Men and women can be friends and it can just be friendly." And when Theroux and Miller were spotted hanging out earlier this summer, reliable publications such as People noted that they're also "friends."
Meanwhile, the Globe's article refers to Rodriguez as Lopez's "fiance" and claims she's been wearing a $250,000 engagement ring from him. Less than two weeks ago, however, Lopez confirmed in a radio interview that she's "not engaged." The outlet's report is filled with one inaccuracy after another, so any discerning reader should be aware that the main theme of the article is also untrue. Unfortunately, the gossip media enjoys arbitrarily linking Theroux to random female celebrities, so we suspect the actor will be in another nonexistent romance very soon.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
