Justin Theroux and Emma Stone are not moving in together, despite a completely false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the ridiculous claim. As we've repeatedly noted, the two aren't even dating.
According to Life & Style, the actor is planning to move in with his "Maniac" co-star, who lives near Jennifer Aniston in Bel Air. An alleged "insider" tells the magazine, "Jen's worst nightmare is about to come true. He told friends he's moving to LA for a while, and it looks like he'll be staying at Emma's house." The questionable source adds, "It's the ultimate girl-code betrayal. Jen just can't seem to catch a break.
The suspicious tipster goes on to say that Theroux and Stone "could definitely become Hollywood's next power couple" as their relationship grows more serious. "It would be so embarrassing for Jen if she starts having to avoid Justin and Emma at events and on red carpets, like she did with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie," adds the supposed insider.
The first problem with the magazine's bogus story is that Stone and Theroux aren't a couple. As their mutual friend Jonathan Van Ness recently told E! News, the two are just "friends." He added, "Men and women can be friends and it can just be friendly." A source close to the actress also confirmed this, recently telling Gossip Cop, "There is no relationship between Emma and Justin... They're friends and colleagues."
As for the assertion that the actor wants to move to Los Angeles, that simply isn't the case. As was widely reported, one of the main reasons that Theroux and Aniston split is because he preferred living in New York City, while she wanted to remain primarily on the west coast. "The living issue often made them bicker," a source told People shortly after Aniston and Theroux separated. "It was always hard for Jen to understand why Justin didn't like, or at least could learn to like LA."
The trusted celebrity news publication further reported that Theroux "had a hard time fitting into Aniston's luxurious but insulated LA world" during their marriage. The actor isn't moving to a city where he's not comfortable living for a woman who he isn't dating. The tabloid's article is untrue on every level.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Stone, who tells us the magazine's article is "completely false." We're assured yet again that she and Theroux are "not romantically involved" and "both have stated repeatedly they are just friends."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
