Justin Bieber did not warn Selena Gomez that he’s writing a song about The Weeknd, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We told the call did not happen.

According to In Touch, Bieber lashed out at his ex-girlfriend after The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) was featured on rapper Nav’s song “Some Way,” singing the lyrics, “Your girl fell in love with me.” A so-called “insider” is quoted by the tabloid as saying, “[Bieber] left a voicemail on Selena’s phone, and he knew she would have Abel listen to it. In it, Justin told him to ‘watch out’ because he was going to drop a song that was ‘more real than anything you’ve ever heard’ if Abel didn’t back down.” Now, claims the magazine, it’s “war.”

There’s no question Bieber is unhappy about the situation. He has publicly let it be known that he “can’t listen to a Weeknd song.” However, he did not leave the voicemail the tabloid claims he did. Additionally, “Some Way” was written months ago and it’s not about Bieber. An impeccable Bieber insider, who acknowledges he’s not overjoyed by Gomez dating The Weeknd, assures Gossip Cop the so-called “voicemail” that threatened her new boyfriend never happened.

Interestingly, In Touch didn’t mention in its latest article how Gomez and The Weeknd had been secretly dating for a year, a made-up claim Gossip Cop recently busted. Also glaringly missing was that Gomez and The Weeknd’s relationship is in trouble, an assertion the magazine wrongly reported just a little more than a week ago. Of course, this latest report about an ominous voicemail all comes from the same publication Gossip Cop previously exposed for putting out an untrue cover story about Gomez being pregnant with Bieber’s baby. And it’s the same repeatedly disproven outlet that falsely alleged Gomez and Bieber were getting married three months ago.

Suffice to say, the tabloid does not have the greatest sources for Bieber or Gomez, and it seems highly unlikely it would know about a private voicemail he supposedly left on her phone. And while it’s true Bieber is having a hard time with his ex-girlfriend dating The Weeknd, he hasn’t warned her about writing a revenge song. Like many of the provably wrong stories mentioned above, the latest article is similarly inaccurate.
