A new story claiming Justin Bieber asked Selena Gomez to join him on a “romantic pre-Valentine’s Day vacation” is completely made-up. Not surprisingly, the manufactured tale comes from HollywoodLife, a website that both Bieber and Gomez have publicly slammed.
In its latest fabrication, a so-called “source” is quoted as telling the often discredited outlet, “[Justin] invited Gomez to join him for a intimate getaway.” The alleged “insider” adds, “He’s left L.A. for some fun on a spiritual retreat, and he’s hoping Selena will join him for a pre-Valentine’s vacation.” The supposed “source” maintains, “[Bieber’s] plan is to stay at a secret location at a luxury resort for a few nights.” According to HollywoodLies’ questionable tipster, Bieber is hoping Gomez “will break away from her busy schedule” to accompany him on the romantic trip.
The entire report, however, is made-up fan-fiction, and Gossip Cop is not remotely surprised. When we fact-checked the story, no one close to either Bieber or Gomez could confirm the article’s details. It should be noted, if HollywoodLies really had reputable sources, it would surely know where Bieber and Gomez are staying on their “romantic pre-Valentine’s day vacation,” as well as when they’re arriving at the unnamed “luxury resort.” Instead, the website purposely states very vaguely that Bieber’s plan is to “stay at a secret location.” That way, if they’re not seen together on the most romantic day of the year, the habitually disproven outlet can safely backtrack and claim they were in an undisclosed location.
Of course, HollywoodLife has a track record for publishing fake news about Bieber and Gomez. Remember, Gossip Cop previously corrected the outlet when it wrongly contended Bieber and Gomez were going to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together, claims that were shot down by a family insider. We also busted the blog when it falsely guessed Bieber and Gomez were planning to spend New Year’s Eve together in New York. Instead, as widely reported, Gomez and Bieber celebrated the New Year in Mexico. Now, the website is pretending to know what the couple is doing on Valentine’s Day.
As Gossip Cop has pointed out in the past, the untrustworthy blog is desperate to appear well-informed with its supposed “exclusives,” but in reality, no one from Bieber and Gomez’s camps are divulging any private information about the couple with a website that Gomez herself once called “the worst” and Bieber tried to shut down. Not surprisingly, the equally unreliable Celebrity Insider regurgitated these lies without bothering to check whether it was even true.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
