Is Justin Bieber being "forced into rehab" by Hailey Baldwin? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, is told by a Bieber insider it's "not true."
A new NW story begins by stating Bieber's marriage to Baldwin is "hanging by a thread as he reportedly heads back to rehab." Gossip Cop is going to stop right there: When was Bieber in rehab in the past? And what legitimate outlet is contending he's off to rehab to warrant the use of the word "reportedly"?
There's no question the singer has dealt with certain issues in the past. In Vogue's March cover story about Bieber and Baldwin, the singer admits he used to have a "legitimate problem with sex," and his past use of Xanax got "pretty dark." Also, Bieber revealed he still struggles with depression and acknowledges he and his wife are in couples therapy and go to church for guidance.
That said, Bieber is not being "forced into rehab." NW simply makes the claim in its headline and doesn't offer any proof whatsoever to backup its explosive allegation. Actually, as close as the magazine gets is maintaining it has a "source" who asserts Baldwin "urged him to get professional help." That's a giant leap from being "forced into rehab."
Gossip Cop reached out to an impeccable Bieber insider who, on condition of anonymity, tells us exclusively the tabloid's tale is 100 percent "not true." This same Bieber confidant has been shown to be reliable for a long time, having helped us debunk other stories from that same publication. For example, in August the magazine claimed Bieber and Baldwin were breaking up, but of course they got married the very next month. Whoops.
After that disaster, Gossip Cop busted the outlet when it wrongly reported Baldwin was getting plastic surgery to look like Selena Gomez. Four months after that article, the model looks exactly the same. As for his ex-girlfriend, this is also the same tabloid that insisted Gomez was pregnant with Bieber's baby. The story was published 13 months ago, so it's safe to assume that tale was also untrue.
To recap: The magazine alleges Bieber is being "forced into rehab," but it has no evidence to support that. Additionally, the outlet has a terrible track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the singer. And lastly, the same Bieber insider who assures Gossip Cop the latest story is "not true" has been spot-on in the past with helping us debunk other NW articles.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
