Is Justin Bieber following a “Love Bible” for his rekindled romance with Selena Gomez? A report actually claims he has “10 Commandments” for their “revived relationship.” Gossip Cop looked into the story, which comes from the tabloids.

According to OK!, Bieber and Gomez’s reunion “just might last” because he “made himself a list of 10 commandments for wooing” his on-and-off girlfriend, and he’s following them “religiously.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Justin has sworn of partying and does daily meditation to stay focused.” But those changes have nothing to do with Gomez. Bieber actually radically changed his lifestyle over the last two years or so, long before Gomez re-entered the picture. In fact, Bieber was even seen meditating outside Parliament in Canada last year.

The gossip magazine’s supposed source then asserts Bieber “also talks to Selena at least five times a day — calls, not texts — if they’re apart.” Okay, and? Many couples are in contact throughout the day. It isn’t clear what that or Bieber meditating has to do with a “Love Bible.” But the outlet goes on to contend, “Some of the rules are all about romance: Biebs writes Selena a poem each week and started taking cooking classes so he can prepare all of her favorite meals!”

Wait, so one of these “commandments” is, “Thou shalt cook food for your girlfriend”? Apparently the publication doesn’t realize how ridiculous this sounds. The tabloid then asserts there’s “one change Selena isn’t so keen on: Justin’s decision to ‘fess up every time another girl catches his eye.” Claims its purported tipster, “Selena doesn’t need to know all that, but she’s glad Justin wants to be open and trustworthy.”

Well, it is true Bieber and Gomez are trying to rebuild their relationship on a foundation of trust. But the rest of this is baloney. First off, if Bieber really had “10 Commandments” for his relationship and OK! and its “insider” really knew that, it would’ve actually listed what they all were. Instead it came up with a couple of sweet gestures, wrongly tried to attribute Bieber’s personal growth to Gomez, and made the obvious assumption that he and Gomez want there to be trust between them.

And while this comes off as positive story about Bieber’s dedication to their relationship, even the nice tales have to be called out when they’re clearly manufactured. The magazine’s past credibility, or lack thereof, also speaks for itself. This is the same outlet that once tried to get readers to believe it knew Bieber and Gomez were having “reckless”
unprotected sex and might soon be expecting a baby. Of course, that speculated pregnancy never happened. It was one of a handful of untrue Bieber-Gomez rumors Gossip Cop revisited in 2015 when they were seen hanging out again.

Now that they’re spending time together once more, the gossip media has gone into overdrive pretending to have insight on the relationship. That’s what’s going on here with this “Love Bible” story, which, by the way, a contact tells us was “made up.” Maybe OK! should start following commandments about practicing real journalism.
