Is Hailey Baldwin sick of having to play Justin Bieber's "therapist"? That's the latest story about the couple in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned it's untrue.
Last week, Bieber shared a lengthy Instagram post opening up about his struggles with mental health and the difficulties of growing up as a child star. The note was a genuine moment of vulnerability from the singer, so of course the tabloids are using it as a chance to come up with drama regarding his marriage. Heat, for example, has decided to take aim at the fact that Bieber repeatedly credits his wife for keeping him grounded and happy.
Citing an unnamed "insider," the outlet says Bieber's mental health struggles are "too much" for Baldwin to handle. "She feels like his therapist sometimes," adds the supposed source. "It's an incredible amount of pressure to put on such a young person, especially one so inexperienced with this kind of thing." The alleged tipster adds, "Hailey's exhausted, and it feels like she's constantly managing Justin's mood swings."
The seemingly phony source continues, "Of course, she wants him to get better, but she currently feels more like his carer than his wife. She spends more time talking it all through with him than they do having fun." The tipster goes on to say that Baldwin's been saddled with a "huge responsibility" despite feeling "like she's not equipped to help him." The result, alleges the tabloid, is that Baldwin is no longer sure she wants a future with Bieber.
In reality, Bieber and Baldwin's marriage is going strong. Just last week, Baldwin shared a photo of Bieber embracing her on Instagram, captioning it, "the most perfect day with my person." Those aren't the words of someone who's at the breaking point with their spouse.
Additionally, People magazine, a much more trustworthy publication, reported in March that Baldwin is only encouraging when it comes to Bieber's mental health. "Hailey isn't putting any pressure on him at all," reported the reliable outlet. "She only wants him to focus on his mental health." The publication also clarified that Bieber was seeing therapists on both coasts, so he's definitely not treating Baldwin as his mental health provider.
It's courageous for a celebrity to open up about their personal struggles, but the gossip media tends to exploit the situation with fake stories. Bieber and Baldwin are both candid about their mental health and relationship, which results in the tabloids skewing what they're trying to express.
In March, Gossip Cop busted In Touch for falsely claiming Bieber and Baldwin were headed for a split over his depression. Just this week, we debunked another callous story about Bieber being put on suicide watch after posting his Instagram note. Heat is now suggesting that the post will result in a divorce, but that notion is absolute nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
