Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have spent the last few weeks on a PDA tour of Florida, New York and Washington. But there's still much confusion surrounding their relationship status thanks to a number of untrue tabloid reports. Below, Gossip Cop separates fact from fiction on Bieber and Baldwin dating.

FICTION: Selena Gomez is having a "hard time coming to terms" with Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's relationship, according to HollywoodLife.
FACT: The site claimed to know Gomez's reaction to her ex and his other ex rekindling a romance, alleging she found it "painful." Of course, she's publicly blasted the blog as "never true" and the "worst." As Gossip Cop also pointed out, "Entertainment Tonight" had already reported recently that in the wake of Gomez's split from Bieber, she was focusing on "herself." That means not fixating on what Bieber is or isn't doing.

FICTION: Justin Bieber is "flaunting" a romance with Hailey Baldwin to make Selena Gomez jealous, according to HollywoodLife.
FACT: The website, which Bieber has tried to shut down for being "untruthful" and "hurtful," now purported to know he wanted Gomez to see "he is moving on with someone else." As Gossip Cop explained, though, at that point in time he and Baldwin weren't showing off a relationship but trolling the paparazzi by acting silly in front of them. In fact, Bieber later pranked the paparazzi by wearing a ring on his wedding finger. This all had nothing to do with Gomez.

FICTION: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin may be engaged, according to the Daily Mail and Cosmopolitan.
FACT: Because Baldwin was photographed wearing a diamond ring, the outlets speculated she and Bieber were set to wed. Asked the magazine, " that an engagement ring? Is this the apocalypse? Unclear on both counts." But Gossip Cop did some digging and discovered Baldwin has worn the ring in years past. In fact, the paper ran a suspiciously similar story in 2016. And People had reported just one day before this that though Bieber and Baldwin were stepping out together, he was "not dating anyone seriously." That obviously ruled out an engagement.

FICTION: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are "talking marriage," according to In Touch.
FACT: The tabloid declared, "Brace yourself, Beliebers — Justin Bieber is marrying Hailey Baldwin!" It was even said the superstar "isn't wasting any time," yet the publication had zero insight on any wedding plans, or even an engagement. Nothing was said, either, about its article from nearly two years ago that maintained Bieber and Gomez were getting married. Just as that was made-up, so was this new narrative. Gossip Cop even found a Bieber GQ interview from 2016 in which he specifically said he didn't want to "rush into anything" with Baldwin. UPDATE: That said, out-of-the-blue, on July 7 Bieber popped the question to Baldwin while vacationing in the Bahamas.

FICTION: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are having a baby, according to NW.
FACT: After falsely contending earlier this year that Gomez was pregnant with Bieber's baby, the magazine now asserted "the Biebs might be contemplating having a baby with Hailey." On top of that, the outlet also repeated the debunked claims about Baldwin wearing an engagement ring. But Gossip Cop reported that opposed to doing something as serious as having a child, their connection was more about having fun. E! Online also shared about Bieber and Baldwin's relationship status, "There's no label; they just like being together."

FICTION: Selena Gomez is trying to break up Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, according to NW.
FACT: Again not mentioning anything about a February pregnancy, the tabloid claimed in late June that Gomez was doing "everything in her power" to make sure Baldwin and Bieber "don't last the distance." That supposedly included "texting Justin non-stop in order to get Hailey suspicious that something's going on between them again and then dump him." As Gossip Cop noted, however, some of its allegations about Baldwin's reaction were contradictory. And besides the story not making much sense, E! Online had already reported that Gomez has "moved on" from Bieber, and is "not interested in getting back together with him."

FICTION: Justin Bieber is proposing to Hailey Baldwin, according to Star.
FACT: "Justin's decided to pop the question," alleged a so-called "source" quoted by the magazine, who further announced he's "finally ready to become a husband." Yet the publication then said at the end of its story that an "engagement isn't happening just yet." This was yet another article that didn't make sense because it was entirely bogus. Gossip Cop also pointed out that it might've been inspired by the equally wrong tale about Bieber and Baldwin "talking marriage." Plus, as first reported by People, Bieber and Baldwin aren't shy about kissing in public, but "it's nothing to read into seriously," and "there are no wedding bells ringing."

"Entertainment Tonight" has also reported that Bieber and Baldwin are only "casually dating." It's not surprising that the gossip media is trying to make fans think otherwise, and Gossip Cop suspects a love triangle storyline with Gomez will continue to be carried out by the tabloids, too. But as Bieber and Baldwin's dynamic continues to evolve, Gossip Cop will keep separating fact from fiction as appropriate.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
