A new story about Justin Bieber only wanting "alone time" with Selena Gomez for his birthday gift is made-up. Gossip Cop can bust this fabricated report, which was posted by HollywoodLife. The website has already published a string of manufactured articles about Bieber's 24th birthday, some of which even contradict its latest tale.
According to the often discredited outlet, Bieber is asking for a "much more meaningful" birthday present this year. In the article, a so-called "source" is quoted as telling the online publication, "He doesn't need any lavish gifts from [Gomez], he just wants to spend some alone time with her." The blog's most assuredly fake "insider" is further quoted as saying, "Granted, if she has anything planned as a surprise for him he will love it because he loves spending any time he can with her."
But as Gossip Cop noted above, these newest claims about Bieber's March 1 birthday are just the latest in a barrage of bogus stories posted by the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies. Despite the site's contention, it's not exactly a scoop to assert the superstar wants to spend his birthday with his girlfriend. We recently called out the unreliable website when it claimed it had exclusive details about Gomez planning a "romantic surprise" for Bieber's birthday. In that story, the outlet alleged the actress reached out to manager Scooter Braun to help organize a secret party.
Basically, HollywoodLies takes an event, in this case Bieber's birthday, and concocts stories around it, hoping and praying that something possibly resembling its guesswork pans out. To date, it has manufactured stories that have Bieber and Gomez spending his birthday "alone" and with many others at a surprise party. If for some reason neither of these scenarios happen, the outlet will then backtrack and make up more lies about why they didn't spend his birthday alone or with others at a big bash.
This is basically that blog's modus operandi. For example, Gossip Cop previously corrected the site when it falsely guessed Bieber and Gomez were spending Thanksgiving together, celebrating Christmas with each other, and going to New York for the New Year. Each and every one of those reports were wrong.
Once again, HollywoodLies is taking a stab in the dark about what Bieber will be doing on his 24th birthday. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the story is 100 percent "made-up," and assures us no one remotely close to either star is feeding that site with private information about the couple. Of course, while it's likely the couple will be spending Bieber's birthday together, the serial fabricators at that outlet have no insight about what they'll be doing and probably won't know anything until paparazzi pictures emerge or more legitimate media organizations report on it first.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
