Jumanji won the first box office weekend of 2018. Get the details, and check out the grosses for all of the Top 10 movies below!

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is a sequel of sorts to 1995’s Jumanji, which starred Robin Williams and a young Kirsten Dunst. This version features Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillian and Nick Jonas, with the game at the center of the story now a videogame instead of a board game. The film opened in late December, five days before Christmas, and had been trailing behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

But now in its third week in theaters, Jumanji climbed the chart to take first place with $36 million in ticket sales. That put its total cumulative take at close to $245 million, making it the best-grossing non-animated domestic film for both Hart and Black to date. That’s quite the feat.

Also impressive was that the new horror film Insidious: The Last Key stopped The Last Jedi from sitting in second place. The fourth installment in the Insidious franchise brought in $29.3 million for its debut weekend. In comparison, The Last Jedi earned $23.6 million and had to settle for ranking third. The Greatest Showman nabbed the fourth position with receipts worth $13.8 million, while Pitch Perfect secured fifth with $10.2 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were number six finisher Ferdinand. It had a haul of $7.7 million. Molly’s Game, for which Jessica Chastain is getting Oscar buzz, took seventh place with $7 million. Darkest Hour ended up in eighth with $6.4 million, and Coco came in ninth with $5.5 million. Just making it into the Top 10 in the final spot was All The Money In The World. It earned just $3.6 million. Several of these films are nominated for Sunday’s Golden Globes, which could lead to a box office boost if they win.
