Julianne Hough is married! The star wed Brooks Laich on Saturday. The intimate ceremony took place outdoors near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho before 200 family members and friends, including Mark Ballas, Nina Dobrev, and the bride’s brother Derek, who was a groomsman. Hough wore a Marchesa gown, while her hockey player husband sported a Brooks Brothers tuxedo.

As Gossip Cop reported, Hough and Laich got engaged in August 2015 after a year and a half of dating. The “Dancing With The Stars” judge announced the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself hugging her husband-to-be while showing off her engagement ring. “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiance #love,” Hough wrote. The star later told People, “I’m just feeling so happy and blessed every moment of every day. My favorite thing about being engaged is just a sense of warmth and just joy.”

Shortly after their engagement, Gossip Cop busted a slew of inaccurate outlets for publishing bogus stories about the couple. Just weeks after the announcement, for instance, we corrected the National Enquirer for falsely alleging Ryan Seacrest was “devastated” over Hough’s engagement. The supermarket tabloid claimed that Seacrest, Hough’s ex, felt “remorseful” and had been “kicking himself” ever since he heard about Laich’s proposal. A mutual pal of ours and Seacrest’s assured us the entire article was untrue.

Sister outlet OK! also peddled a number of phony stories about Hough’s wedding. Last November, Gossip Cop debunked the magazine for wrongly claiming Hough and Laich had put their wedding on hold, as the dancer allegedly had cold feet over her upcoming nuptials. That tale was entirely false, as wedding planning was actually underway.

And just last week, we called out the tabloid when it falsely implied on its cover that Hough’s wedding had already taken place. After misleading readers with so-called “exclusives” about the ceremony and the couple’s first dance, the actual article was revealed to be a bait-and-switch. The story itself acknowledged the nuptials hadn’t yet taken place, and all the information was pre-wedding speculation. Notably, the gossip magazine claimed the event would occur at Hough’s “family lake house in Utah,” and alleged Jenny Packham was “crafting” her gown. Neither purported detail turned out to be accurate.

Now that the couple has officially tied the knot, Gossip Cop congratulates the pair on becoming newlyweds! As noted earlier, fellow “Dancing with the Stars” personalities Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also married on Saturday.
