Julia Roberts isn't leaning on Richard Gere amid a so-called "marriage crisis," despite a bogus tabloid report. The actress isn't having any marital problems, so she has no reason to turn to her Pretty Woman co-star for support. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony story.
According to OK! Australia, the actress's 16-year marriage to Danny Moder is on the rocks, and her friends are worried the drama is taking a toll on her physically. The unreliable outlet further contends that Gere has stepped in to get the actress back on her feet. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Julia broke down in his arms from the strain and exhaustion, and Richard was there to comfort her. Julia is absolutely miserable, and the word is, she just poured her heart out."
A so-called "friend" of the actress is then quoted as saying, "Julia looks like she could collapse any minute. The first thing she needs to do is to get her health back on track." The questionable source adds, "Richard has been encouraging her to put some weight on, and she's already taken his advice to heart. He'll still make time for her, no matter what."
However, there's one major issue with the tabloid's account of events: Roberts and her husband aren't on the brink of divorce. Earlier this month, Roberts shared an Instagram photo of her and Moder hugging on the beach. She added the caption, "Oh Summer, thank you! You made us happy and brave. We embraced every moment of sun drenched JOY #familytime."
Meanwhile, Roberts called her husband "an awesome human being" during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. The actress added, "We have so much fun." And just a few months ago, Us Weekly published a story dedicated to Roberts and Moder's "solid, loving marriage." The article noted that the spouses of 16 years "still have crazy passion and love for each other." The publication went on to say that the two have maintained a successful relationship because they're "always making time for each other."
It's worth noting, Gossip Cop busted the American version of OK! in July for wrongly reporting that Roberts was pregnant with a "miracle baby" at 50-years-old. That story wasn't true either, but it shows that the publication and its overseas counterpart can't keep their stories straight. This latest article involving Gere is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
