There have been many recent tabloid stories about Julia Roberts being pregnant, despite the actress not expecting a child. Gossip Cop has debunked several takes on the subject as of late. Here are a few wrong rumors.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Roberts celebrated a supposed pregnancy by going to Hawaii with husband Danny Moder. A so-called "onlooker" told the magazine that the spouses "seemed like they were celebrating something, and maybe hiding a happy secret." The only true aspect of the story was that the actress and her husband went on vacation together. The couple's romantic getaway wasn't in celebration of a nonexistent pregnancy. In fact, Roberts said in a 2013 interview on the "Late Show with David Letterman" that there's "no" chance she's having another child.
Gossip Cop also called out New Idea earlier this month for wrongly reporting that Roberts was pregnant with her fourth child. The magazine had zero proof to back up its story, but insisted the actress was looking "more curvy" these days. As noted above, Roberts has already made it clear she's happy with three children and her thoughts on the matter haven't changed. A source close to the actress and her husband also confirmed they're not having another baby.
Last October, Gossip Cop debunked an In Touch article claiming Roberts had gotten pregnant to save her marriage. In reality, the actress wasn't expecting a child and her relationship wasn't in need of saving. According to the magazine, however, the spouses of 16 years were having problems due to the actress's "demanding and controlling ways," as well as the cinematographer's "jealousy issues," but a fourth baby had turned things around. Around the same time the story emerged, Roberts told Harper's Bazaar she's "so proud" of her marriage, adding that false divorce stories "still hurt my feelings." In addition to the actress not being pregnant, her marriage was never on the rocks.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted OK! last July for making up a story about Roberts being pregnant with a "miracle baby" at 50-years-old. The tabloid contended that the actress and her husband were expecting their fourth child after two years of IVF treatments. Roberts was said to be around three or four months pregnant at the time the story was published, but she had zero signs of a baby bump in an Instagram photo she shared shortly before the article emerged. As time has proven, the actress wasn't pregnant last year and she's still not expecting.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
