Was Julia Roberts really attacked by a ghost on the set of her upcoming movie? That’s what one of this week’s tabloids is strongly suggesting. Gossip Cop investigated the scary story and we can exclusively set the record straight.

The actress recently filmed a scene in a New York cemetery for the drama Ben Is Back, and now Star is claiming that a spirit may have crashed the set. “Pretty Woman Julia Gets Pretty Spooked,” reads a headline in the latest issue of the magazine. The accompanying article quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “As Julia regrouped for another take near the tombstones, she suddenly felt someone or something shove her.”

The outlet’s questionable insider continues, “She quickly turned, but there wasn’t a soul around! Julia hopes it was just a crew prankster having a laugh, but no one’s fessed up to the creeper clobber.” The only remotely true aspect of this article is that Roberts shot a scene for her upcoming movie in a cemetery. The alleged incident described in the publication, however, never happened.

Gossip Cop checked in with a source involved in the production of Ben Is Back, who exclusively assures us that Roberts never experienced a supernatural “shove” on the set of the film. It seems the writers at Star were inspired to make up an eerie story after learning that the actress shot a scene in a cemetery, but no such event occurred.

It should be noted, this tall tale is coming from the same untrustworthy outlet that consistently attempts to destroy the actress’s happy marriage to Danny Moder. Gossip Cop recently busted Star for falsely claiming that Roberts and her husband were “on the rocks” over her friendship with Richard Gere. Prior to that, we called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Roberts and Moder were headed for a divorce over her on-set relationship with Wonder co-star Owen Wilson. This latest article is equally bogus.
