A new tabloid report claiming Julia Roberts "saved her marriage" to Danny Moder is completely inaccurate. The actress's 16-year marriage wasn't in need of saving in the first place. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
Life & Style has spent a lot of time publishing bogus reports about the actress and her husband getting divorced. In March, for example, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Roberts and Moder were headed for a split over his supposed jealousy of Dermot Mulroney, who co-stars with the actress in the upcoming Amazon series "Homecoming." Obviously, the happy spouses are still very much together.
The magazine is now attempting to cover up its lies about Roberts and her husband having marital issues by contending that they worked together to salvage it. An alleged insider tells the outlet, "This spring, Julia and Danny were often at odds over his desire to wear the pants in the family, and what he saw as her controlling ways."
The supposed source goes on to say that the couple's friends had feared their marriage was over, but the actress started fighting for it. "She's done everything in her power to fix their marriage," says the questionable tipster. "Julia pulled out all the stops to show Danny how much she values him and their relationship. It's managed to pull them back from the brink." The "insider" adds, "Julia is learning to give up the control that's caused so many problems in their marriage. This has eased the tension."
The tabloid seems to have published this bogus story simply to save face. Life & Style had been insisting the spouses would divorce for quite some time, but now that it's clear they're not breaking up, the magazine is backing out of its old and disproven premise. The publication is only claiming Roberts "fixed" her marriage so it can instead attempt to "fix" its previously debunked stories.
As Gossip Cop has noted, Us Weekly recently dedicated an article to Roberts and Moder's "solid, loving marriage." The reputable magazine further noted that the two have stayed happy together for so long because they're "always making time for each other" and "their top priority is always family."
Additionally, Roberts said in the December issue of InStyle that one of "the three keys to joy" is to "marry the right person." A couple of months before that, Roberts gushed about her marriage in a Harper's Bazaar interview. In regards to her husband, the actress said, "When I think about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shine inside of me, it's him." The couple, who will celebrate their 16th anniversary on July 4, haven't fixed a marriage that wasn't broken.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
