Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder are not having a "marriage crisis," despite a completely untrue report in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the supposed drama. We're told it's entirely fabricated.
According to OK!, the actress and cinematographer have been fighting nonstop for the past several months and both are ready to pull the plug on their marriage. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Before they got married, Danny promised he would never feel insecure or competitive with Julia, but these days she feels like he's blaming her for everything that's gone wrong in his career."
The outlet's alleged insider continues, "She hates the idea of divorce, but she's worried the kids might start asking questions and she won't be able to keep up the charade any longer." The suspicious source further claims that Moder recently moved out of the family's Malibu estate to see if some distance would help fix their problems, "but the last time they got together, they ended up in a screaming match over who's pulling more weight in the family."
The questionable insider concludes that the couple is headed for a $225 million divorce, adding, "It's not just about signing on the dotted line. They'll have to divide their fortune and duke out a custody agreement. It's only going to get messier." Gossip Cop, however, is told by a mutual friend of ours and Roberts that while she and her husband have their "moments," like many other couples do, there's "no truth" to the magazine's account of their marriage, which is still going after 15 years.
In fact, Roberts praised her husband in a recent interview, admitting that she became a better person after meeting him. "When I think about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shine inside of me, it's him," the actress said. "Everything has come from that for me." It should also be noted, OK! has spent a lot of time and energy trying to break up the couple's happy marriage.
Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Roberts' marriage was in trouble over her friendship with Richard Gere. Shortly after that nonsense, we debunked a bogus story about the actress ordering her husband to constantly check in with her while he's away working. This latest article in the ongoing saga is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
