Julia Roberts' marriage to husband Danny Moder is frequently the subject of false tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has debunked several bogus articles about the spouses. Here are five recent wrong rumors.
Just last week, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for falsely claiming that Roberts was leaving her husband for Ocean's Eleven co-star George Clooney, whose own marriage to wife Amal was supposedly in trouble as well. In reality, the two movie stars aren't developing a romance and neither of them are headed for a split. Roberts and Moder were spotted showing a lot of PDA at the Golden Globes last Sunday, while Clooney and his wife enjoyed a date night in New York City last month. The longtime friends and co-stars aren't leaving their respective spouses for each other.
Last month, Woman's Day Australia made up a story about Roberts leaving her husband for another one of her Ocean's Eleven co-stars, Brad Pitt. The phony story was concocted simply because Roberts posted an Instagram tribute to Pitt in honor of his 55th birthday. The actress was simply wishing her friend a happy birthday, and there's absolutely no romance between the two stars. One month before the article emerged, Roberts gushed about her husband on Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop podcast.
Also last month, Gossip Cop called out Star for wrongly reporting that Roberts and Moder would be getting a divorce after Christmas. We immediately corrected rumor of a holiday split, and the happy spouses are still very much together now that 2019 has arrived. In addition to showing PDA at the Golden Globes last week, Roberts posted an Instagram photo of her and Moder sharing a kiss in their car following the ceremony. The actress captioned the post, "Fun Night W My Fella."
Last November, Gossip Cop debunked an In Touch story claiming Roberts got pregnant to save her marriage. Of course, the actress wasn't expecting a baby and her relationship wasn't in need of saving. During a 2013 interview on "Late Show with David Letterman, Roberts said there's "no chance" she's having another child. And around the same time the article was published, Roberts addressed false divorce rumors in an interview with Harper's Bazaar. "It can still hurt my feelings, because I'm so proud of my marriage," said the actress.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style last September for alleging that Roberts and Moder's marriage was at an "all-time low" amid nonstop fights over various issues, such as time apart and their different approaches to parenting. The tabloid claimed the couple got into a particularly heated battle during the Malibu Chili Cook-off they attended that month. Two days after the event, however, Roberts posted an Instagram photo of the two hugging on the beach. Just one week prior, Roberts called her husband "an awesome human being" during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival. There were never any issues between the spouses, who are still going strong after 16 years.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
