Celebrities are showing support for Julia Louis-Dreyfus after the actress revealed Thursday on Twitter that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. She said in a statement, “One in eight women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union.” She added, “The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.” See Hollywood stars’ reactions below.

Shortly after Louis-Dreyfus made the announcement, breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate reached out on Twitter to assure the fellow actress she’s available for comfort. “Mama, find me. Let’s talk if you want,” Applegate tweeted. The actress underwent a double mastectomy in 2008 shortly after being diagnosed with the disease. Meanwhile, Judd Apatow expressed, “Sending you love and strength but it appears you beat us to it and are sending the world love and strength.”

Debra Messing said, “J sending all my healing energy your way. You are incredible to use this moment as an opportunity to support others. Thank you. Much love.” Rita Wilson wrote, “Thoughts and prayers are with you, Julia. God bless you. Stay strong.” And Anna Kendrick stated, “F**k. F**k. I don’t think I realized how much I love this woman, who I don’t know. Love her more for speaking up for others in this moment.”

Michael McKean wrote, “Cancer is no match for you. Stomp it good. xox.” Kathy Griffin said, “Sad to think we’re in a place where u may have to actually worry about accidentally reading horrifying responses if u post, but major respect, compassionate & love to Julia & all the people who will be helped be her honesty.” Rosie O’Donnell conveyed, “sending love to Julia Louis-Dreyfus,” and Sarah Silverman added, “so sorry and so in awe.”

Louis-Dreyfus’ “Veep” co-star Tony Hale noted, “We love this woman.” Bobby Moynihan tweeted, “Love you @OfficialJLD Thinking of you and all the brave women today.” Ken Jeong offered, “Sending love and best wishes to @OfficialJLD and her family.” And Jesse Tyler Ferguson offered, “Love you @OfficialJLD & love you for using this difficult time to shed light on those less fortunate. You are class act my friend.”

Josh Gad expressed, “I am heartbroken today to hear about @OfficialJLD but I know that if anyone is strong enough to fight this & beat it, it’s her. We love you.” Wanda Sykes wrote, “Love you Julia. You got this.” And Kate Walsh tweeted emojis of prayer hands and a flexed muscle, while Alyssa Milano said, “I love you, @OfficialJLD.”

HBO also said in a statement, “Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time. We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of ‘Veep.'” Louis-Dreyfus attended the 2017 Emmys earlier this month, taking home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as ex-president Selina Meyer on HBO’s “Veep.” The actress made Emmys history by becoming the first person to score sixth consecutive wins for the same role on the same show.
