Is Jude Law‘s three-year romance with girlfriend Phillipa Coan on the rocks because of his busy work schedule? One of this week’s tabloids claims the couple is headed for a split. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.
“Busy Jude Blows Off Gal Pal!” reads a headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article says the actor hasn’t had any time for his girlfriend as he’s been on location in Italy shooting the HBO series “The New Pope,” “and every minute is spoken for by work.”
A supposed source tells the magazine, “Their relationship is on the ropes… He’s been incredibly impatient with Phillipa and doesn’t have any time for messing around.” The alleged insider further contends that Coan has been begging her boyfriend to spend quality time with her, but he’s totally committed to his TV show and other projects he has in the works. “Phillipa’s bored as hell,” adds the suspicious tipster. “It’s a recipe for disaster without an obvious solution. Something’s gotta give and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be Jude!”
None of this is remotely accurate. In fact, Law’s girlfriend has been with him in Italy as he shoots his upcoming HBO series. Last month, Law and Coan were spotted taking romantic strolls in the European city on several different occasions. Photographers spotted the two smiling while walking arm in arm during all of their outings. Also last month, Law and Coan were seen enjoying a water taxi ride in Venice. It’s quite clear that whenever the actor has a break from filming his show, he’s spending that time with his girlfriend.
The outlet’s bogus story is also poorly-timed. On Thursday, Law was spotted arriving at his home in London with a bouquet of red roses as a Valentine’s Day gift for his girlfriend. In addition to the overwhelming amount of evidence proving the couple is going strong, Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to the actor, who confirms the magazine’s article is false.
Last year, Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer‘s sister publication, Life & Style, for falsely claiming Law and Coan were having a baby together. That report wasn’t true either, but it goes to show how the gossip media makes up stories about the actor’s relationship on a whim. This latest one about him being headed for a split is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
