Joy Behar Birthday The View

Joy Behar celebrated her birthday on “The View” on Friday. The longtime co-host, who will turn 74 on Saturday, was feted by Barry Manilow, Taraji P. Henson and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Check out the videos below!

The special episode of the ABC talk show began with Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Paula Faris walking out to Katy Perry’s “Birthday.” Italian treats, including dozens of cannolis, were laid out on the table, leading her to crack, “Just what I wanted: I’m going to put seven pounds on my ass.” Triumph the Insult Comic Dog then appeared to roast Behar and the group. “Thank you bitches for not talking too long,” he quipped, going on to say that Behar is like a lunch lady who won the lottery with skin as soft as her interview with Hillary Clinton. The pooch also said that Behar hasn’t been in many movies, but her breasts have won two SAG Awards.

Later in the show, Henson surprised Behar with a Bernie Sanders-themed pin-up calendar. Then came the bigger surprise: Manilow was there to serenade her, nearly 20 years after she professed her love for him on the show. In her honor, he played an unrehearsed medley of “Looks Like We Made It,” “Mandy,” “I Write The Songs” and “Copacabana.” The music icon also brought Behar memorabilia, and closed his mini-set with “Can’t Smile Without You.”

And though it was Behar’s birthday, she decided to give out a gift of her own. She explained, “I wanted to give something back this year,” and so she chose to highlight The Retreat, an organization for victims of domestic violence. Some of the group’s employees and beneficiaries were in attendance, and Behar enlisted Toyota to give a donation of $30,000 as well as a new van to transport those in need of assistance.
