Josh Groban performed “Evermore” from Beauty & The Beast on Tuesday’s “GMA.” Watch below!

“Evermore” was composed by renowned film score composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice, both of whom worked on the original animated Disney movie. They created this song, and a few others, specifically for the live-action remake, which opens in theaters on Friday. And there’s actually two versions of the track.

In the film, Dan Stevens sings “Evermore” in character as the Beast, a major addition to the classic story. But on the soundtrack, there is also Groban’s recording of the song. And his “GMA” appearance marked the first time he sang the ballad live on television.

He’s not the only music superstar to be featured on the new Beauty and the Beast album. Ariana Grande and John Legend teamed up to do their own version of the beloved title track, which Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson sang for the original 1991 soundtrack. But Dion wasn’t left out of the new project.

Like Groban, she was asked to record another new song, called “How Does A Moment Last Forever.” Menken and Rice jointly created the new piece, which plays over the film’s end credits. While no performances of that song have been announced, check out video of Groban singing “Evermore,” as well as a touch of “Be Our Guest,” on “Good Morning America” below!
