Josh Gad paid tribute on Thursday to PC Keith Palmer, the police officer who was stabbed to death during Wednesday’s terrorist attack near London’s Houses of Parliament.

The assailant killed two people and injured dozens more after plowing his car through a crowd on Westminster Bridge. He then drove his vehicle into the fence outside Parliament, where he fatally stabbed Palmer before being shot dead by authorities. Palmer, a married father, was a member of the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection command with 15 years of service.

On Thursday, Gad posted an Instagram photo of the slain officer, who he had met during a previous trip to London, and offered his condolences. “Officer Keith Palmer, who was killed today while working at Parliament was the same officer who was so unbelievably kind and generous to us when we went to visit a few months ago,” Gad wrote. “I am sick with grief for all of the families today but particularly stricken knowing that somebody who was so personally kind to me and my friend could be murdered in such a senseless manner.” Gad added, “My prayers go out to all of the families who have been affected by this heinous act.”

As Gossip Cop reported, the actor was also among a number of celebrities who reacted on Twitter to the London attack shortly after it occurred. Gad wrote at the time, “I am so horrified and heartbroken by the events in #london and #parliment. Please be safe everyone!!!”
