Josh Duhamel is not “playing stepdad” to Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck‘s three kids, despite a ridiculous new report. Gossip Cop can once again debunk the false rumors about Garner and Duhamel dating. We’re told on background that this ongoing narrative is complete nonsense.
In early January, Gossip Cop busted OK! for publishing a phony cover story about the Love, Simon co-stars developing a romance on the set of the upcoming film. A few weeks later, the untrustworthy tabloid printed a bogus follow-up article about Duhamel meeting Garner’s kids. Several other outlets recycled these inaccurate claims, including a fabricated report about Affleck going into a “rage” over the (nonexistent) relationship.
Now, the Australian edition of Woman’s Day is jumping on the bandwagon by wrongly maintaining that Duhamel “is practically living” with Garner and her three young children, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 5. An alleged insider, who must be hiding in a cupboard or under a couch, is quoted as telling the magazine, “Friends say they’re fast becoming a real modern family. Jen and Josh love to cook at home and cuddle up to watch movies with the kids.”
The supposed “source” further claims Duhamel will often bring along his 4-year-old son Axl, who he shares with estranged wife Fergie. But there’s not a shred of truth to any of this. Garner and Duhamel aren’t blending their families because they’re not even a couple. In fact, Garner admitted she hasn’t been on a date since splitting from Affleck in 2015 and isn’t interested in going out with anyone anytime soon.
Regardless, Gossip Cop once again checked in with sources close to the situation, who weren’t at liberty to comment on the record, and we’re exclusively assured that Garner and Duhamel’s relationship remains completely professional. There’s no romance going on between the Love, Simon co-stars, and they’re certainly not bringing their kids together for dinners and movie nights at the actress’s home. This is a non-story.
It should be noted, Woman’s Day illustrated its article by deceptively photoshopping Duhamel and his boy Axl into a picture of Garner with her two girls, all in an effort to make it look like the group stepped out together. The tabloid used the caption “Josh and Jen play happy families” to accompany the manipulated photos. The image, which you can see below, is completely fake.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
