Josh Duggar has left a Christian rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois following a six-month stint to treat his addiction to Internet pornography. As Gossip Cop previously reported, the former “19 Kids and Counting” star checked into the center last August following a cheating and sexual abuse scandal.

In a statement on their official family blog, the Duggars say, “Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh. Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead.”

Last year, it was uncovered that when Duggar was a teenager, he molested five underage girls, four of whom were his sisters. Just a few months later, Duggar was exposed as having an account with Ashley Madison, a website designed for people looking to cheat on their significant others. Following the discovery, which came to light after the site was hacked, Duggar said in a statement, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever.” He further admitted to having a “secret addiction” to pornography and being unfaithful to his wife.

Duggar’s wife Anna later acknowledged she was “deeply hurt” by her husband’s actions and was hesitant to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary. However, she later divulged that her strong Christian beliefs allowed her to forgive her husband, and she would stay with him, leading her to visit him in rehab in December. Many of Duggar’s other family members have also shown support and compassion for their disgraced relative, with sister Jessa, one of his victims, saying earlier this week that she has “forgiven” him, although there are lingering trust issues. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
