Josh Brolin recently packed on a ton of muscle mass, but the actor isn't taking steroids to achieve his new look, despite a speculative tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.
The actor is looking buffer than ever these days and has been chronicling his intense weightlifting sessions in Instagram videos. A new Star article wrongly asserts that Brolin's physical transformation is for his role in Avengers: Infinity War, despite the actor stating in nearly all of his posts that he's building muscle for his villainous role in next year's Deadpool sequel. In fact, the actor's character in the Avengers sequel is CGI.
Following that inaccuracy, the magazine goes on to insist, "It's almost unbelievable that someone could build that kind of muscle so quickly," before theorizing that "steroids or some type of supplement may be behind" Brolin's muscle gain. But Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and the actor, who laughed off the tabloid's speculation, and assured us the actor hasn't been using performance-enhancing drugs to get in shape. In fact, Brolin noted in one of his workout videos, "Totally clean: no sugar, no breads, no pastas, no drugs, none of it. Fish, rice, eggs, veggies, water."
Last year, Gossip Cop called out Star when it wrongly reported Brolin had "cold feet" over marrying Kathryn Boyd. The couple tied the knot just two weeks later. This also isn't the first time we've had to debunk a phony story involving a celebrity's muscles. Gossip Cop previously busted Star's sister publication, OK!, for falsely claiming Zac Efron was dangerously "obsessed" with working out. This latest article is equally untrue. Watch a few of Brolin's steroid-free workouts in the Instagram videos below.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
