Jordan Smith The Voice Top 12 Video

Jordan Smith stunned with the Christian hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” on “The Voice” on Monday. Check out the video below!

As Gossip Cop has reported, Smith has been the season 9 frontrunner since his Blind Audition. He was voted into the Top 12 last week after his Live Playoffs performance. Now for his second live turn on stage, Smith chose an unconventional song choice.

Before performing, the Team Adam Levine contestant became emotional discussing his commitment to God. “This performance, it’s a chance to show who I really am,” said Smith. And boy did he.

Smith began by singing the first verse a capella, and then played the piano for the rest of the song with no other accompaniment. All four coaches came him a standing ovation afterward. And then Levine even went on stage to give his artist a hug.

Blake Shelton told Smith afterward, “Jordan, you know with coming off the weekend and the horrible things that happened over in Paris and just having a heavy heart the last few days, thank you for that. That was beautiful.”

Pharrell may technically be a rival coach, but he admitted, “Dude, you had me standing up in the middle of the song… I think everybody needs to go to iTunes right now. I don’t care about the vote. Go to iTunes right now and buy this song from this guy right now.”

And Levine acknowledged, “Blake took the words right out of my mouth.” He went on, “Sometimes there’s so much about the world that can be so confusing and so sad, and then you come along and make us feel like there’s a lot of hope.”

“There’s just two and a half minutes we’re listening to this guy singing and you just feel this joy and r3ejuvination that you don’t think you’re going to feel again,” continued Levine. “I thank you, Jordan.”
