Jordan Feldstein is dead. The brother of Jonah Hill, manager of Maroon 5 and close childhood friend of Adam Levine has died at the age of 40, it was revealed on Saturday. The tragic news comes just before Christmas.

According to Variety, which first reported Feldstein’s passing, the cause of death was a heart attack. A statement furnished to the outlet reads, “Unfortunately, last night Jordan called 911 for shortness of breath. When paramedics arrived it was determined he went into full cardiac arrest and passed away shortly thereafter. His family asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time. In lieu of food and flowers, the family will announce a charity in the coming weeks where memorial donations can be made in Jordan’s name.”

Feldstein operated Career Artist Management, through which he oversaw Levine’s career and managed Maroon 5. Levine grew up with a close relationship to Feldstein as well as to Hill. In fact, as Gossip Cop reported at the time, Hill officiated Levine’s wedding a few years ago. In recent months, Feldstein and Hill’s younger sister, Beanie Feldstein, has been in the spotlight for her acting work, including in Hello Dolly on Broadway and in the film Lady Bird. The rising star even appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” just a few days ago.

Career Artist Management represents a number of notable names, including Robin Thicke. Feldstein previously worked with singer Sara Bareilles before the pair had a falling-out in 2014 following a fight with Sharon Osbourne at a pre-Grammy event. Reflecting on his career trajectory in a 2015 Billboard interview, Feldstein admitted that previously, “I wasn’t a team player. I was arrogant. Now, being older and realizing that not every record is going to be [like Maroon 5’s Songs About Jane], I have better perspective. I’m much more willing to listen to what a client wants as opposed to dictating what I want.”

He went on to say about fame, “It’s not for me. I hate any sort of attention, and I admire how well they handle it. But I love that I get to be around it and get the perks of it. So in a way, I have the most enviable position because I get 90 percent of what they get, but I don’t have to actually deal with it.”

In addition to brother Jonah, sister Beanie and their parents, Feldstein is also survived by two children. He was previously married twice, including to Francesca Eastwood. The short-lived couple had the marriage annulled in 2013. Gossip Cop, who received the above photo from the Feldstein family, extends condolences to all friends and loved ones.
