A new report claiming that Jon Hamm is upset about Chris Martin stealing Dakota Johnson from him is completely fabricated. For starters, the actor never romantically pursued the actress. Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.
In October, Gossip Cop called out the New York Post for wrongly speculating that Hamm and Johnson were dating after the two were spotted having a drink together at a New York City hotel. A source close to Johnson exclusively assured us at the time that the actor and actress are "just friends," and time has shown that they never developed a romance.
The latest issue of Life & Style, however, claims that the reason Hamm and Johnson never hooked up is because Martin "swooped in and swept her off her feet." An alleged source tells the magazine, "Jon was blindsided. He met Dakota at Elton John's 70th birthday party in April 2017, and he was taking things slow. They'd been talking a lot. Then all of a sudden, the communication just stopped."
Coincidentally, Hamm and Johnson are both co-starring in the upcoming movie, Bad Times at the El Royale, but the outlet's supposed insider speculates it will be awkward between the two on set. "Jon wants another long-lasting relationship," adds the seemingly phony source. "He had hoped he could have that with Dakota."
However, Hamm never attempted to start a relationship with the actress, so this entire article is based on a false premise. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us there's "no truth" to the tabloid's account of events. Martin didn't "steal" his girlfriend from the actor, despite the magazine's absurd claim otherwise.
Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has had to debunk several phony articles surrounding Johnson and Martin's relationship. We recently busted a made-up story about the Fifty Shades Freed star being pregnant with the Coldplay rocker's baby. Gossip Cop has also shot down more than one report alleging that Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, is furious about his relationship with the younger actress.
It's not too surprising that Hamm is being dragged into Johnson and Martin's relationship considering he was wrongly linked to the actress last year. Gossip Cop, however, can confirm that there's no validity to the love triangle that the tabloid is attempting to create.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
