Johnny Depp’s friends don’t fear he’ll be “dead by Christmas,” despite an outrageous and untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. The actor’s health isn’t in jeopardy.

“Johnny Depp: Only Weeks To Live!” reads a shocking headline in the latest issue of the Globe. The accompanying article says the movie star has been drinking out of control amid his court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. The article’s subtitle declares, “Booze binges leave Pirates star teetering on edge of death.”

“Johnny was still ordering vodka to his room by the bottle at 3 a.m. the night before a recent red carpet event,” an alleged source tells the magazine. “He was gulping the booze during the event from a coffee cup. It was wild!”

The supposed insider goes on to say that Depp’s security team “had to try and keep him steady on his feet” during the unnamed “red carpet event.” What event was this and when did it take place? The magazine doesn’t say, and it’s never a good sign when a tabloid can’t provide specifics to back its premise. From there, the suspicious tipster says the actor also complained about his hotel room, but eventually snorted: “It’s fine because I’ll trash it anyway.”

The publication’s morbid story simply isn’t accurate. For starters, it was announced last week that Depp will be returning for a third Fantastic Beasts movie, which is expected to start shooting in spring 2020. Meanwhile, Depp looked perfectly healthy while attending the grand opening of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida a couple of weeks ago. And it should be noted, although the Globe doesn’t say if that was the red carpet event that he allegedly stumbled through, photos from the event show him posing with ease. There was no booze-filled coffee cup in his hands either.

Still, Gossip Cop checked in with an individual in Depp’s camp, who dismissed the story as nonsense. We’re assured no on in the actor’s inner circle is worried about his health. This also isn’t the first time the Globe has tried to kill off the movie star. In August 2018, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Depp was facing a deadly liver crisis that could put him in an early grave.

By November 2018, the outlet had taken a break from making up stories about the actor’s health and turned to his love life. Gossip Cop called out the magazine last year for trying to create a fake romance between Depp and Jennifer Aniston. That didn’t pan out, so now the tabloid has circled back to concocting false rumors about the actor’s well-being. The publication knows nothing about any aspect of Depp’s personal life.
