Did Johnny Depp really demand that the staff of a restaurant hang up a curtain in front of his table to hide him from the other diners? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, but Gossip Cop has the exclusive truth.

An article in the latest issue of In Touch says the actor recently visited the Tower Bar in Los Angeles with a group of friends, expecting to sit at his regular table secluded from the public. But according to a suppose “source,” Depp’s spot was occupied by another party and he had to sit in a more exposed area. The outlet’s dubious insider says, “He complained that he wouldn’t be able to enjoy his meal, so the staff grabbed a long curtain and hung it next to Johnny, shielding him from prying eyes.”

The magazine’s questionable source goes on to say the actor later complained to managers about his regular table being unavailable, so they “apologized to him profusely and promised he’d never be left waiting again.” Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a trustworthy source close to Depp, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s tale is “ridiculous” and simply never happened.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to call out a publication for publishing an outlandish story about the eccentric actor. Gossip Cop recently busted Star for falsely claiming Depp demanded Disneyland staffers only address him as his Pirates of the Caribbean character. We also busted that outlet for wrongly reporting Depp had undergone a surgical “divorce makeover.” This latest article about the actor is equally bogus.
