John Mayer NOT Trying To “Win Back” Katy Perry, Despite Claim

John Mayer Win Back Katy Perry

John Mayer did not recently try to “win back” Katy Perry, despite an inaccurate report. Gossip Cop can bust this claim. We’re told it’s false.

According to Life & Style, Mayer is “desperate” to rekindle his romance with Perry following her split from Orlando Bloom. Oddly, the tabloid relies on information from its rival tabloid OK! to claim Meyers sent Perry dozens of roses and expressed she could always count on him. Using its competitor’s story, the magazine further alleges Perry had her assistant pawned off the flowers on a nursing home. “She’s horrified that he’s pining for her so publicly,” a supposed “insider” is quoted as saying. The alleged source goes on to maintain that Perry’s wants nothing more from Meyer.

While it’s shocking that Life & Style would look to a rival for stories to publish, sadly it’s not surprisingly that neither outlet fact-checked the claims. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Mayer never sent Perry 100 red roses after she and Bloom broke up, as first wrongly alleged by OK!. An impeccable insider told us it a made-up claim.

Frankly, it’s a little scary that Life & Style made no effort to see whether the article was true or not. Instead, it seemingly decided that a juicy story was better than an accurate one. Nowhere in its regurgitation does it mention having spoken to sources or reps in an effort to confirm the sent flowers claim.

Gossip Cop, however, went back to its trusted source, and again we were assured the report was and remains false. Our insider reiterated that Mayer is not desperately trying to “win back” Perry. We reached out to reps for both singers for comments.
