Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are not expecting a baby, despite a completely false and speculative tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. We've learned the "Game of Thrones" star simply isn't pregnant.
According to OK!, however, the engaged couple "may already have a baby on the way." The evidence? Turner faked a baby bump the U.S. Open last month by stuffing a seat cushion underneath her jacket. The actress was simply having fun with the paparazzi, but apparently the magazine didn't get the joke.
An alleged insider tells the magazine, "She's gained some weight and has been glowing. People are putting two and two together." The unreliable outlet further contends that Turner skipped the Emmys last week to avoid being asked pregnancy questions. "Sophie's aware that people are whispering about her, but if she has an announcement to make, she'll do so on her own terms," adds the supposed tipster.
However, the real reason that Turner didn't attend the Emmys on September 17 is because she was in Montreal filming reshoots for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Meanwhile, Turner was photographed on a date night with Jonas in Los Angeles on Monday night, and the actress wore a small T-shirt that showed off her stomach. It's very clear from the photos that the TV star doesn't have anything resembling a real baby bump.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Turner, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that she's "not pregnant." The outlet's absurd story is based on nothing but the actress messing around with a seat cushion at the U.S. Open. It's also worth noting, Turner and Jonas haven't set a wedding date yet, so it doesn't seem very likely that they're rushing to start a family.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've had to debunk a bogus story about the famous couple. Last year, Gossip Cop busted OK!'s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for falsely claiming that Jonas has "flings with fans" while Turner is away working. The couple got engaged the same week that phony article was published and they're obviously still together. If the singer were truly cheating on his fiancee with other women, it's hard to believe their relationship would have lasted this long. Basically, the tabloids have very little insight into Jonas and Turner's relationship, so they give birth to false stories instead.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
