Jimmy Kimmel Oscars Special

“What to Expect on Jimmy Kimmel’s Post-Oscars Special,” reads the headline of a misguided E! story. The article notes, “If anyone knows how to host a post-show segment, it’s Jimmy Kimmel.” And while that’s true, this year Kimmel is NOT hosting a post-Oscars special.

After pointing out how “the late-night talk show host famously has put on a post-Oscars special of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ for years,” the site embarrassingly continues, “But this year Kimmel is facing a lot of pressure. Not only will he host his post-Oscars show Sunday, he’ll also be hosting the Academy Awards, meaning he will have to have even more jokes on hand to impress his viewers.”

E! then goes on to list a series of “ideas” it came up with for Kimmel’s post-Oscars special. But, as Gossip Cop noted above, Kimmel is NOT hosting a special this year after hosting the Academy Awards. Incredibly, it seems E! is the only outlet that did not know this.

Instead, as widely reported, “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson is hosting “Live From Hollywood: The After Party,” which is slated to feature interviews with some of the winners backstage and other celebrities at the Governor’s Ball. Joining Anderson will be Lara Spencer from “Good Morning America.” Oddly, the entertainment site’s story feels eerily like one Kimmel’s “Lie Witness News” segments.
