Jim Carrey did not claim President Donald Trump is a member of the “reptilian Illuminati” who he once witnessed shapeshift into a lizard, despite an absurd new report. The story comes from a website known for peddling ridiculous conspiracy theories, but Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

This past weekend, Carrey hosted an art exhibit in Las Vegas to debut his original paintings. YourNewsWire is now reporting that the comedic actor went on a diatribe during the event about the president secretly being a “reptilian that shapeshifts between human and reptile form.” The unreliable site says Carrey told the crowd he first encountered Trump in the early ’90s at a boxing Atlantic City, where he saw him changing form. The blog quotes the actor as saying, “Donald Trump has a long reptile face, an oversized beak, and his scales are a disgusting grey color, like sewer water.”

The questionable outlet further contends Carrey told his fans that Trump changed shapes “at least three times” as an intimidation tactic and “warning not to mess with the dominant reptilian-political Illuminati.” According to the untrustworthy website, the actor also said, “His hands turned into scaly reptile hands while he gesticulated at random acquired objects he deemed beautiful or valuable. When he smiled his teeth changed into razor sharp reptile teeth and glistened like jewel-encrusted daggers.”

Of course, it would be worldwide news if Carrey had actually made these outrageous accusations about the president at a public event, but no other outlet is reporting the actor’s alleged comments. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Carrey, who laughed off the webloid’s bizarre story before exclusively assuring us it’s “all made-up.” The actor never gave an anecdote about Trump being a “reptilian Illuminati” and the quotes attributed to him are all fabricated.

As Gossip Cop reported, YourNewsWire is the same site that recently alleged Carrey believes Apple’s new Face ID technology will lead to a “totalitarian New World Order.” The quotes included in that bogus article were completely manufactured as well. The actor may be eccentric at times, but he hasn’t been spouting these wild conspiracy theories.
