Jigsaw brought the Saw franchise back to theaters and back to first place at the box office this pre-Halloween weekend. Get the details, and check out the grosses for the Top 10 movies below.

Jigsaw is the eighth film in the Saw horror series, and its release was timed to come just days before Halloween, even though there are currently three other spooky tales on the big screen. This new installment focuses on a series of murders done in the style of The Jigsaw Killer, 11 years after he himself was killed. With a debut of $16.3 million, it ranks as the franchise’s lowest opening to date. Still, that total, which was at least more than the flick’s reported $10 million budget, give Jigsaw a box office win and the top spot.

And it wasn’t just Jigsaw that underperformed, which could be due to moviegoers spending the weekend celebrating Halloween instead of sitting in theaters. Last week’s chart-topper, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, was down nearly 60 percent in its second weekend. It had to settle for second place this time around with a haul of $10 million. Meanwhile, Gerard Butler’s Geostorm continued to bomb with a third-place finish and receipts of $5.7 million. Happy Death Day came in fourth with just $5.1 million, while Blade Runner 2049 nabbed fifth with $4 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 was Thank You For Your Service in sixth. The film is about veterans struggling with PTSD and stars Miles Teller, who is also one of the leads in Only The Brave, which came in seventh. That movie is a true story about a group of firefighters. His two pictures earned $3.7 million and $3.5 million, respectively. Securing eighth was The Foreigner, with ticket sales of $3.2 million, followed by Suburbicon in ninth with just $2.8 million. Just making into the last spot on the Top 10 this weekend was It. The movie earned $2.5 million.
