Jessica Simpson does not have a "baby on board," despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We're told she's not planning on getting pregnant with her third child anytime soon.

According to Star, Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are "gearing up for another baby." The magazine claims that Simpson has "plans for baby No. 3 already in the works." In very unnatural language that includes the mention of her age, a so-called "confidante" tells the tabloid, "Jessica knows there's never been a perfect time to have a kid, but she's 37 and feels like the clock is ticking." The supposed source further maintains, "Even though Jessica is busy with her clothing line and other business ventures, she doesn't want to wait any longer to give [her two kids] a sibling." "She's more than ready to pencil more mommy time into her schedule," adds the purported "pal."

The tabloid, however, provides itself with an out should Simpson not have a third child. The magazine alleges that Johnson is reluctant to have another baby for a number of reasons. Also, the publication snarkily writes that Simpson is "only interested in one type of bottle," and quotes a "witness" as saying the fashion mogul and entertainment star recently "didn't look sober." The article ends with its "informant" stating, "[Simpson] needs to make a choice: parties or pregnancy."

But the tabloid's claim that Simpson and Johnson are "gearing up for another baby" is untrue, says our impeccable source. Our spot-on Simpson insider notes that one should "never say never about something like that," but assures Gossip Cop that having a third child is "not an imminent goal."

Star has not exactly been entirely accurate when reporting about the actress and singer. One year ago, Gossip Cop corrected the tabloid when it wrongly declared that Simpson and Johnson were the "next celebrity couple to split." We also busted the magazine when it falsely claimed Simpson got breast implants. Neither of those articles were true, and the latest tale about Simpson imminently "gearing up" for another about baby is equally untrue.
