Jessica Simpson Husband Nanny

Jessica Simpson’s husband Eric Johnson was NOT “caught with the nanny,” despite a new tabloid cover falsely alleging the couple is now in the midst of a “$175 million divorce shocker.” Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report.

The new issue of OK!, which came out Wednesday, asks in a headline, “Eric Cheating On Jessica?” The story is largely based around photos of Johnson taking son Ace on a hike with one of the family’s nannies. Or, as the sensational cover puts it, without mentioning the little boy, “Eyewitness: ‘They disappeared into the bushes for two hours!'”

The fuller quote inside the article paints a far less scandalous picture: “They disappeared into the bushes and then spent almost two hours hiking in the sun, while Ace rode on his father’s shoulders.” Tellingly, the magazine doesn’t even know the name of the “pretty young blonde,” but nevertheless suggests that something illicit may be taking place between her and Johnson. “Even if Eric and the nanny haven’t gotten physical yet,” the magazine’s supposed “insider” says “Eric is bound to cross a line.”

Naturally, the magazine draws comparisons to other so-called “nanny scandals” with Ben Affleck and Gavin Rossdale, and that’s likely why it believes readers will fall for the claims about Johnson. And what about the “$175 million divorce” touted on the tabloid’s cover? The story merely says at the very end that a breakup “could force Jess to hand over a chunk of her hard-earned $175 million fortune.”

But there is no divorce on the horizon, and Simpson is not concerned about Johnson and their nanny. In fact, one source close to the couple was actually “horrified” by the implications OK! is making. Gossip Cop is exclusively assured by our impeccable contact that the magazine is barking up the wrong tree.
