Jerry O’Connell and wife Rebecca Romijn are NOT fighting over him wanting to become the new co-host of “Live” alongside Kelly Ripa, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

The actor has served as Ripa’s guest host on multiple occasions, but there’s been no discussion yet about him becoming Michael Strahan’s permanent replacement. According to Star, however, he’s “fixated on landing the gig” and is willing to move from Los Angeles to New York for the opportunity. But a so-called “source” tells the magazine that Romijn “refuses to uproot their daughters and move.”

The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to purport that O’Connell is convinced he can change his wife’s mind, and she’s even joked that if Ripa “gets Jerry, I get [Kelly’s husband] Mark Consuelos!” But Gossip Cop checked in with reps for both O’Connell and Ripa, and we’re exclusively assured that the tabloid’s entire story is simply “not true.”

Of course, we’re not surprised by the publication’s completely inaccurate report. Gossip Cop previously busted Star for falsely claiming that Ripa was refusing to hire a new “Live” co-host. There was no truth to that story, and the same goes for this latest one.
