Jennifer Lopez is not working out "five days a week" for the express purpose of getting "in shape" for a supposed wedding, despite a claim. Gossip Cop can bust this false tabloid story. Lopez has always been dedicated to a fit lifestyle, regardless of whether or not she's walking down the aisle.
But Life & Style claims Lopez "sees room for improvement, especially when it comes to how she's going to look at her upcoming wedding to Alex Rodriguez." With alleged plans to tie the knot in the spring, the gossip magazine claims the star is "taking the phrase 'shedding for the wedding' to a whole new level." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "She's been working out at least five days a week."
The outlet asserts Lopez is working with both a nutritionist and a personal trainer, with the purported tipster claiming her plans consist of "tough cardio workouts, yoga, running, cycling, boxing, and dancing." Adds the publication, "And she's not alone. A-Rod is also joining her in the gym." As evidence, the tabloid points to Rodriguez sharing on Instagram a video of himself and Lopez working out with the caption, "2018, here we come."
Of course, that had nothing to do with preparing for a wedding. The post was on December 31 and Rodriguez was simply referencing the new year, not the year he supposedly plans to say 'I do.' And to make matters worse, the magazine goes on to regurgitate its already debunked claims from last month about Rodriguez picking out a "$3 million engagement ring." Clearly the outlet is hooked on this wedding narrative, but it's worth remembering that the publication also claimed Lopez and Rodriguez were getting married (and having a baby!) nearly a year ago.
To date, Life & Style has yet to show it's a credible resource when it comes to reporting on this coupling. And while it's possible Lopez and Rodriguez could wed at some point in 2018, the notion that she's working out to slim down for nuptials is "false," her rep tells Gossip Cop exclusively. The singer-actress has always been committed to a fitness regimen. In fact, last summer, Women's Health rounded up comments Lopez has made over the years about maintaining her famous body.
For example, she told Us Weekly in 2015 that she "very rarely skips a workout." That was long before Lopez started dating Rodriguez, so clearly she wasn't "shedding for the wedding" back then. The superstar works out because she likes to be fit, not because she's planning to be a blushing bride.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
