Has Jennifer Lopez been working out so much that she’s too muscular for the wedding dress that was being designed for her? That’s the false story in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to NW, Lopez has gained 22 pounds of muscle because she’s been hitting the gym nonstop with Alex Rodriguez, and the singer’s workout routine has impacted her wedding plans. An unnamed source tells the magazine that Lopez is “bordering on bodybuilder status,” adding, “Her guns are huge and she’s gained a couple of inches across her back.”
The alleged insider adds, “But the downside is she’d split her wedding dress if she tried to button it up right now, so she’s searching for a new gown.” The supposed tipster goes on to say the situation is making Rodriguez nervous, but not because he’s worried about his fiancee’s dress. “He’s worried she’s going to have bigger muscles than him soon!” adds the suspicious source.
The story then pivots and says Lopez has “come down with a bad case of pre-wedding jitters – which is threatening to put the wedding on hold… for good!” The so-called “insider” adds, “Every bride-to-be has doubts, but it’s worse with Jennifer. This will be her fourth wedding – and if it doesn’t work out, it’ll be humiliating.”
Everything about this story is untrue. For starters, Lopez and Rodriguez haven’t chosen a wedding date. Because of the couple’s busy work schedule, they won’t be getting married until sometime next year. Brides aren’t typically fitted for dresses in advance of a wedding date being set. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who assures us the magazine’s article is total nonsense. The premise seems to have been invented simply because Lopez and her fiance enjoy hitting the gym.
Additionally, NW has already proven to have zero insight into the singer’s romance. Gossip Cop busted the outlet in January for falsely claiming Lopez was dumping Rodriguez to reunite with Ben Affleck. Just a few weeks after we debunked that ridiculous story, the singer and the former MLB star announced their engagement.
This also isn’t the first time we’ve had to correct an article about the singer being hesitant to walk down the aisle. Just last week, Gossip Cop called out Life & Style for similarly alleging that Lopez was getting cold feet before marrying Rodriguez. The singer herself has made it clear she looks forward to getting married when her schedule clears up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
